Along with the industry standard mandatory courses for everyone above, Fix Factory Technicians must also complete 2 certified levels to be able to fix your device. CRMs and “Over-The-Phone” Technicians only need Level 1 to diagnose common problems with you before creating your fix for a certified tech to complete service on. This Level 1 plan includes two courses:
- WISE Certification Program Study Guide: This document serves as a study guide for the Level 1 WISE® Certification Knowledge Exam. Once enrolled in this course, fTechs® have unlimited access to the material.
- WISE Certification Level 1 Knowledge Exam: Administered online, this exam includes sixty multiple choice and drag and drop type questions that tests whether our technicians are qualified to fix or resolve issues without opening the device. Although techs are only required to achieve 70% on this knowledge test for passing, Fix Factory Canada technicians are required to achieve at least an 85% test result score to be a certified fTech®.
To be able to diagnose your device and to receive WISE® Level 1 Certification, all fTechs® are required to enroll and complete the full learning plan with Fix Factory Canada up-to this stage. Only fTechs® with the next level (Level 2) are eligible to fix your device.

A Level 2 WISE® Certified Technician is a technician who has completed the theoretical and practical training, obtained WISE® Certification, and is considered qualified to fix a device by opening the device and replacing modular components without inducing any further damage, in most cases. There are rare instances where the device is significantly damaged or there’s issues that are undisclosed, and in these cases the fTech® will advise on potential risks instead.
Upon completing Level 1 successfully, all eligible Fix Factory Canada technicians are required to complete the Wise Level 2 knowledge and practical test + must pass our 21-point in-house practical technical screen fix assessment to be certified as an fTech®.
Fix Factory Canada Senior technicians are trained as the above, in addition to possessing years of experience, may have engineering backgrounds and have completed all levels and types of repairs including soldering, board-level diagnostics and advanced repairs. They are what we call Level 5 fTechs®.
Furthermore, ongoing training and skills development is a requirement of all CRMs and Technicians that contract with Fix Factory Canada.
